Ballarini Stock Pot with Lid – Premium Italian Cookware
We designed this stock pot for cooks who need versatility without compromise. The 8-quart capacity handles everything from weeknight pasta to weekend batch cooking, while our proprietary Granitium nonstick coating ensures effortless cleanup every time.

Our Granitium coating is what sets Ballarini apart in professional and home kitchens alike. We infuse the nonstick surface with mineral particles during the curing process, creating a granite-like texture that’s three times more durable than conventional coatings. This means you can use metal utensils without worry—though we still recommend wood or silicone to extend the finish even further.

Forged aluminum construction
We forge each stock pot from a single block of aluminum rather than stamping or welding separate pieces together. This manufacturing process eliminates weak seams and produces walls of uniform thickness from rim to base. The result is consistent heat transfer that prevents scorching and eliminates the need for constant stirring.
Aluminum’s natural conductivity means the pot responds quickly when you adjust the burner—critical for reducing sauces or preventing a rolling boil from boiling over. At 2.5mm thick, the walls are heavy enough to retain heat without being so cumbersome that the pot becomes difficult to lift when full. The forged base sits flat on induction cooktops, gas grates, and glass stovetops alike.

Lid design and steam management
The tempered glass lid gives you full visibility without lifting and losing precious heat or moisture. We built a precision steam vent into the top that releases just enough pressure to prevent boil-overs while keeping the interior environment humid enough for tender results.
The stainless steel rim fits snugly against the pot’s rolled edge, creating a tight seal that’s especially useful when you’re reducing stock or braising tougher cuts of meat. The lid handle stays cool during stovetop use and is oven-safe up to 400°F, so you can move the entire assembly from burner to oven without switching equipment.

Stock pot essentials: your questions answered
Yes, the Granitium nonstick coating is reinforced with mineral particles and can withstand metal utensils without scratching. That said, we recommend using wood, silicone, or nylon tools to maximize the lifespan of the nonstick surface.
If you do use metal spoons or whisks, avoid aggressive scraping or cutting motions directly against the coating. Normal stirring and serving with metal utensils won’t cause damage under typical home cooking conditions.
This stock pot works well for water-bath canning of high-acid foods like jams, pickles, and tomatoes. The 8-quart capacity fits four to five pint jars or two to three quart jars with room for water coverage.
For pressure canning low-acid foods, you’ll need a dedicated pressure canner with a locking lid and pressure gauge. This pot is designed for stovetop and oven cooking rather than the sustained high-pressure environment required for safe preservation of vegetables, meats, and stocks.
For everyday cleanup, warm soapy water and a soft sponge are all you need. If you do end up with stuck-on residue, fill the pot with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then bring it to a gentle simmer for five minutes. The food will release on its own and wipe away easily.
Avoid abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals like oven cleaner, which can damage the Granitium coating. If you notice a buildup of cooking oil over time, a paste of baking soda and water applied with a soft cloth will restore the surface without scratching.
A stock pot like this Ballarini model has tall straight sides and a larger capacity optimized for boiling, simmering, and cooking large volumes of liquid. It’s lighter and heats up faster than cast iron, making it ideal for pasta, soups, stocks, and blanching vegetables.
A Dutch oven has thicker walls, a heavier construction, and is designed for slow braising, baking bread, and retaining heat over long cooking times. Both are versatile, but a stock pot excels at high-volume liquid cooking while a Dutch oven shines for low-and-slow braises and oven-based recipes.
Yes, this stock pot is dishwasher-safe. We recommend placing it on the bottom rack to avoid contact with other items that might scratch the exterior.
That said, hand-washing with warm soapy water takes only a minute thanks to the nonstick coating and will help preserve the finish’s appearance over many years of use. If you do use the dishwasher regularly, avoid harsh detergents with bleach or citric acid, which can dull the exterior over time.
For best results, match the burner size to the pot’s base diameter—approximately 8 inches. Using a burner that’s too small will cause uneven heating and hot spots, while a burner that’s significantly larger can overheat the handles or sidewalls.
On a gas stove, adjust the flame so it doesn’t extend up the sides of the pot. On electric or induction cooktops, the pot will work efficiently on any burner size, though a medium or large burner will bring liquids to temperature faster.
The pot weighs approximately 3.2 pounds empty, including the lid. This makes it light enough to handle comfortably when filled with liquid, yet substantial enough to sit stable on the stovetop without tipping.
When filled to the 8-quart capacity with water, the total weight will be around 19 pounds. The dual riveted handles and ergonomic grips are designed to support this load safely during transport from stove to sink.
